In 2016, efforts began to replace the primary snow removal vehicle. The vehicle was purchased in 2016 with the aid of an INDOT Apportionment Grant. However as a result of several delays from the contractor, the original delivery time of February 2017 was pushed back. Corrections having been made, the vehicle was acquired just days prior to the first snowfall in December of 2017. This state of the art vehicle features a stainless steel dump bed, a sand spreader, and a 14’ runway plow, and will be a great aid to snow removal efforts on the airfield. The total project cost was $262,000.
